Please note that this role is based in Manchester, and our current hybrid working arrangement requires office attendance on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.


Summary of the Role


We’re looking for a Data & Automation Engineer to join our AI team. This hybrid technical role blends coding expertise with advanced low-code orchestration to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and automated workflows that power our AI initiatives. Reporting to the Head of AI, you’ll play a critical role in connecting agency systems with Generative AI models, ensuring secure, efficient, and accurate data flow.


What You Can Expect to Be Doing:


  • Design and deploy sophisticated automation workflows using tools like n8n and Dify.
  • Develop custom scripts (Python/JavaScript) for complex logic and data manipulation.
  • Engineer API integrations to connect internal tools with AI endpoints.
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines for data cleaning and structuring.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot live automations to optimize performance.
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to identify and solve bottlenecks.
  • Validate AI outputs through automated testing and quality assurance.
  • Champion automation adoption across the agency by demonstrating time-saving benefits.


This Role Could Be a Great Fit for You If:


  • You have strong coding skills in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • You’re experienced with workflow orchestration tools like n8n or Dify.
  • You understand RESTful APIs, authentication protocols, and data handling (SQL, JSON).
  • You’re efficiency-obsessed, detail-oriented, and love solving problems.
  • You enjoy collaborating with diverse teams and documenting processes clearly.
  • You’re curious about emerging AI technologies and passionate about continuous learning.
