Data Architect | Up to £125k + Bonus | London, Hybrid (3 days per week onsite) | Insurance | Azure Gravitas is partnered with an Insurance company to recruit an experienced Data Architect. This position sits at group level, operating within a high‑profile architecture team that functions as an internal consultancy to all companies within the wider group. This is a strategic, influential role where you will define enterprise-wide data standards, shape long‑term data strategy, and drive key initiatives that support the organisation’s evolution into a more data‑driven enterprise. The Opportunity As the Data Architect, you will play a critical part in shaping the data landscape across multiple business entities. You will define the multi‑year data roadmap, lead improvements in data lineage and data quality, and drive architecture standards that ensure consistency, security, and scalability across the group. You will work closely with architects, data professionals, actuaries, IT teams, and senior business leaders, translating complex data concepts into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non‑technical audiences. Key Responsibilities
Define and drive the Group-level data architecture strategy Create a multi‑year data vision and roadmap across all entities Act as a trusted internal consultant to group companies on data matters Lead data lineage, data cleansing, data dictionary and data quality initiatives Set standards across data governance, security, MDM, and integration Contribute to data quality working groups and support remediation efforts Provide guidance on emerging data trends, technologies, and capabilities Collaborate across the architecture function, data team, and business stakeholders Ensure policies and processes for data development and maintenance are in place
What We’re Looking For
Strong experience as a Data Architect Deep knowledge of data modelling, data profiling, and data warehousing (Kimball / Inmon) Master Data Management (MDM) experience Understanding of data integration patterns, data governance and data security models Experience working with sensitive or regulated data Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to manage multiple deadlines and workstreams Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure data platforms and services Experience within the insurance sector (London Market, Specialty, or broader insurance) Understanding of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) Exposure to EA tools Experience presenting complex analytical insights Strong communication and structured thinking skills
