Job Description

Data Analyst

Remote first - London/Dundee

Up to £45,000

I’m working with a well-established media and publishing group that’s investing heavily in data, digital and customer understanding – and they’re looking for a Data Analyst to sit at the centre of it all.

Think: instantly recognisable consumer brands across local news, entertainment, kids, hobbies and lifestyle – all backed by a commitment to make a meaningful impact on the communities they serve.

With a wide portfolio (including print, online, puzzles, radio and more), they’ve built out a modern, cloud-based data stack and a highly collaborative analytics function. Now, they’re looking for someone who can turn data into actionable insights across teams like product, marketing and editorial.

The Role:

You’ll be part of a remote-first Data Science & Insights team, working with stakeholders across some of the UK’s best-loved media brands. It’s a hands-on analytics role, focused on enabling smarter decisions and ensuring data is used to guide strategy, storytelling and growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting editorial, product and marketing teams with meaningful, accurate insights
  • Designing and building dashboards and reporting tools
  • Improving the self-serve analytics environment across the business
  • Developing and enriching data models
  • Championing data quality and governance across teams
  • Driving deeper understanding of audience behaviour and customer needs
  • The Tech:

They’re set up with a modern stack — Snowflake, dbt, Looker — and are keen to find someone who can bring experience with:

    • SQL (and data modelling best practices)
    • Working with cloud data warehouses
    • Pulling from multiple sources and transforming complex data
    • Presenting insights in a way that’s accessible and compelling for non-technical teams

    About You:

You’ll be a strong communicator, curious by nature, and keen to bring structure and clarity to data. You’ll thrive in a collaborative environment and be comfortable working across departments.

    Ideally, you’ll:

    • Have commercial experience as an Analyst (media or publishing is a plus, but not required)
    • Be confident shaping datasets and telling stories with data
    • Understand how to connect audience behaviour to business strategy
    • Want to be part of a company that’s modernising how a traditional industry operates

    Why This Role?

This is a genuinely mission-led environment where your work will make a tangible impact across well-known national brands.

You’ll get a voice at the table, exposure across the organisation, and a team culture that actively supports learning, development, and flexibility.

It’s remote-first, with occasional travel to either London or Dundee for collaborative team days.

If you're looking for a role where you’ll be empowered to think, challenge, and grow – while working on products that bring joy to millions – drop me a message, send your CV to roshnibaillie@harnham.com or apply directly.
