The role

The OT Security team within SSEN Transmission are responsible for the security of the digital systems that keep the lights on. This role will lead a small team of analysts and engineers [4 to 6] in the assurance and testing of our established security controls to ensure they remain effective. This will include checking adherence to processes, monitoring and reporting on software vulnerabilities and directing audits, inspections and penetration testing. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing security team with a clear mission to protect critical infrastructure and keep the lights on.

You will

- Lead and prioritise a programme of security audits and assurance to identify vulnerabilities within existing controls. Including:

- Be responsible for the creation of annual Network and Information Systems (NIS) reports for our regulator (Ofgem), including assessing our achievement against the Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF).

- Monitor and auditing our supply chain to ensure security requirements are included within contracts and that suppliers deliver against these commitments.

- Support the delivery of cyber resilience improvement projects to reduce our risk and improve our security maturity.

- Contract external resources to undertake independent control reviews and audits, including control maturity assessments, supply chain assessments and penetration tests.

You have

- Experience undertaking control and maturity assessments ideally with the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF). An understanding of other control frameworks such as NIST CSF and ISA/IEC62443 would also be beneficial.

- Experience working within an Operational Technology (OT) environment, preferably for a large, regulated utility. Including understanding the limitations to applying controls within an OT environment.

- Experience leading others including prioritising workload, development of junior members of the team and establishing new and effective ways of working.

- The ability to work and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders from deep technical experts to senior leaders.

- Experience producing content for regulatory audiences including price control submissions and regulatory reporting.
