We are looking for a personable and motivated individual with a keen interest in the Bakery Category. Working with Major Multiple retailers, you will use compelling consumer, category, and customer insights to develop and implement strong joint business plans with the customer, ensuring all targets are achieved.
Commercial is one of the most exciting and innovative areas of Warburtons, with various teams in Customer, Category, Marketing Communications, Product Management, Innovation, In-store Sales, and Supply Chain; each leading and supporting the business on a range of sales initiatives and brand campaigns throughout the year to ensure we feed the nation with their No.1 bakery brand.
We are also proud to have developed marketing campaigns featuring George Clooney, Peter Kaye, Robert De Niro, Sylvester Stallone, and most recently Samuel L. Jackson. While we can't promise you'll work with these A-listers, you'll be working with highly experienced colleagues who know how to earn their crust!
Key Accountabilities and Measures
- Develop and deliver strong plans with the customer across range, activation, NPD, promotions, and merchandising to achieve and exceed targets.
- Build effective customer relationships with key contacts in Trade, Marketing, store, and supply functions, supporting successful execution of the Joint Business Plan.
- Prepare and manage successful trade negotiations, utilizing expertise to influence the retailer on range, promotions, NPD, and costs.
- Monitor and report on customer sales performance, recommend corrective actions, and gain agreement to solutions to achieve budgeted numbers.
- Input into the monthly Business Planning process, driving improvements in forecast accuracy.
- Deliver the Category Plan within the customer, working cross-functionally with the Category team to ensure effective implementation at the point of purchase.
- Previous sales and commercial experience at the National Account level, ideally within a Grocery/FMCG sales environment.
- Excellent relationship builder, establishing credibility with internal and external contacts at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate data and work with complex spreadsheets on Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SAP systems.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to create impactful PowerPoint presentations for internal and external purposes.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with other commercial functions such as Category, Shopper Marketing, and Commercial Finance to deliver results.
- Good financial acumen and familiarity with P&Ls, with a proven track record of budget delivery.
- Ambitious to support our commercial plans and committed to personal development and growth.
- Good knowledge of the Bakery Industry.
- Full UK Driving License.
