CRYOGENICS ELECTRICAL CONTROLS PROCESS ENGINEER – CONTRACT 6 MONTHS – HYBRID & FILTON Nr Bristol
My client is a global leader in specialized industrial gas applications, particularly Helium and Hydrogen. For 40+ years they have been manufacturing premium Helium and Hydrogen liquefaction units, recovery systems and He production plants. They produce standard and custom solutions for any gas recovery, separation, purification and liquefaction.
We are seeking a Support Engineer with combined expertise in Cryogenics, Electrical & Controls, and Process Engineering. This role supports commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing technical support for advanced helium and hydrogen systems. It combines hands-on commissioning and process work with remote diagnostics and international collaboration.
AT THE COAL FACE / TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and support commissioning of helium and hydrogen liquefaction and recovery systems across the UK and Europe.
Configure, calibrate, and test electrical, instrumentation, and control systems to meet design and safety specifications.
Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting, diagnostics, and technical support for control and process systems.
Analyse process data to optimise system performance and reliability.
Collaborate with engineering teams globally to refine designs and improve commissioning practices.
Support process design, thermal loss calculations, and the design of vacuum-insulated vessels and piping systems.
Document all testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities in accordance with project requirements.
Ensure compliance with UK and international electrical, safety, and pressure system standards.
Represent Quantum Technology on-site with professionalism, technical expertise, and adherence to safety practices.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU / PROVEN ABILITY / EXPERIENCE
Seasoned in electrical controls, commissioning, or cryogenic process systems.
Proficiency with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial automation systems.
Knowledge of process design, instrumentation, and thermal dynamics.
Hands on proven ability with helium, hydrogen, or nitrogen systems (cryogenic or pressurised gas) is a strong asset.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently, remotely, and at project sites in the UK and abroad.
