Credit Controller

Coventry - On site 5 days a week

Salary - Up to £28,000

Robert Half are thrilled to be working with a growing organisation to recruit an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team. Reporting to the Financial Accountant and Senior Credit Controller, this role will take ownership of a designated sales ledger, managing customers on credit terms and ensuring accounts remain within agreed limits. The successful candidate will focus on minimising risk, maximising cash collection, and maintaining strong, professional communication with both customers and internal teams.

You will demonstrate integrity, tenacity, and confidence when needed, as well as a proactive approach to investigating and resolving queries.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively chase outstanding debts and make regular credit control calls
• Monitor and manage customer credit limits
• Set up new customer accounts and complete credit checks
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers
• Ensure aged debt is kept to a minimum across all assigned accounts
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve queries efficiently
• Achieve credit control targets as agreed with the Financial Accountant
• Contribute to a positive team culture, supporting a high-performance environment

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience in a credit control role
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage at all levels
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Confident using Excel and handling financial information
• Professional, friendly telephone manner and high customer service standards
• Flexible and adaptable within a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Experience within an SME or similar background is advantageous
