Credit Controller – Permanent Full or Part Time Nottingham (office based) £26,000–£30,000
Are you a confident and persistent finance professional with experience in credit control or debt collection? We are recruiting for a Credit Controller to join a growing business based in Nottingham. This is a permanent full time opportunity but for the right person could be Part Time. This is a hands-on role offering real ownership of the debt collection process, alongside wider exposure to bookkeeping and finance administration within a small team.
The Role You will take responsibility for the end-to-end credit control process, ensuring timely cash collection and reducing outstanding debt. This is a proactive role suited to someone who is comfortable chasing payments and handling difficult conversations. Key duties include: Making phone calls and sending emails to chase outstanding debtsProactively collecting payments and ensuring timely receipt of fundsIdentifying and addressing situations where customers may be avoiding paymentInitiating debt collection procedures and liaising with external debt collectors where requiredTaking full ownership of the debt collection processSupporting general bookkeeping and finance administration tasksAssisting with day-to-day accounting activitiesMaintaining a hands-on approach and proactively keeping on top of workloadsAbout You Previous experience in credit control, debt collection, or sales ledgerConfident making outbound calls and chasing overdue paymentsPersistent, resilient, and comfortable handling challenging conversationsStrong understanding of bookkeeping and general finance processesExperience using Sage accounting softwareHands-on, proactive attitude with the ability to stay busy and take initiativeOrganised with good attention to detailAdditional Information Open to candidates with varying levels of experience (junior to senior)Experience within industries such as engineering, manufacturing, or construction is advantageousThis role is primarily full-time, but part-time (approx. 3 days / 20 hours) will be considered for the right candidateOffice-based role – candidates should be located within a reasonable commute
