Job Purpose:

The Credit Analyst will support Corporate Banking & Wealth Management department with preliminary analysis, appraisal and monitoring of credit facilities. The role holder will work alongside the Relationship Officer/Manager in collating the required information and preparing credit requests for the consideration of the appropriate authorities of the Bank.


Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and processing of credit applications and other associated documentations for existing and potential facilities
  • Knowledge and review of both corporates and banks preferred.
  • Ensure in-depth analysis of the financial reports/status of companies to facilitate accurate credit decision making by the bank
  • Join RMs to credit presentations at MCC and/or GCC (as required).
  • Ensure all the designated customer credit files are up to date
  • Ensure the creation and management of mirror files for all credit facilities/relationships
  • Ensure prompt review of all credit facilities in Business Development department in line with their assigned risk classification
  • Monitor the changing business environment and ensure periodic update of the department with potential credit risks and business opportunities.
  • Able to conduct market research of the sectors where the bank lends to. Also, conversant with macro-economic analysis.
  • Liaise and address credit related queries from back office departments
  • Identify and follow up on relevant cross selling opportunities and contribute to the overall growth of the Bank’s business development business
  • Comply with the FCA/PRA’s Individual Conduct Rules, as outlined below
  • To support the overall business activities of BD, or may be assigned


Skills/Qualifications required:

  • Educated to a degree level
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in similar or related role
  • Strong knowledge of credit (appraisal, analysis, review, monitoring etc), particularly for corporate clients.
  • Familiarity with various banking products including, Trade Finance, Project Finance and Retail Mortgages.
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Be self-motivated/ work with minimal supervision.
  • Business and Customer Service focused
  • Proactive, thorough and analytical
  • Good knowledge of customer KYC and AML policies and procedures
  • Cross functional and commercial awareness

Language and Numeric skills

Needs to have an excellent command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels. A numeric aptitude is desirable.



This is a permanent position paying up to £60,000 based on experience.
