Higher Level Teaching Assistants / Cover Supervisors Needed

Primary Schools | Daily Supply & Pre-Booked Assignments

Primary schools across South Leeds are seeking confident, reliable, and proactive Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) and Cover Supervisors to support with day-to-day supply cover and short-term pre-booked roles. These positions are ideal for individuals who enjoy variety, can adapt quickly, and feel comfortable taking the lead in the classroom.

What the role involves

• Leading whole-class teaching in the absence of the class teacher, following set plans and school routines.
• Managing behaviour confidently and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 depending on your experience and the needs of each school.
• Delivering activities, supervising group work, and ensuring learning continues smoothly throughout the day.
• Building strong relationships with staff and pupils across different school settings.

What we're looking for

• Experience working in primary schools, ideally as an HLTA, Cover Supervisor, or experienced Teaching Assistant.
• Confidence leading lessons and managing a full classroom independently.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to different school environments.
• A calm, professional approach and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning.
• Availability for daily supply, short-term cover, and pre-booked assignments.
