What is a Cover Supervisor?

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play a key role in keeping the school day running smoothly when teachers are absent. With lesson plans already prepared, your focus will be on maintaining a positive classroom environment, keeping students engaged, and supporting learning outcomes.

Key Duties Will Include:

Supervising classes across a variety of subjects (KS3 & KS4)

Ensuring students remain on task and complete the work provided

Managing behaviour in line with school policies

Reporting any issues or concerns to senior staff

Supporting wider school routines such as break duties and hallway supervision

Being a positive and consistent role model for students

Who We're Looking For:

Experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, youth work, coaching, etc.)

Confident classroom presence with good behaviour management skills

Calm, adaptable, and able to respond to unexpected situations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Reliable, punctual, and professional

Genuine interest in education and supporting student development
