Cover Supervisor - Secondary Schools - Stoke-on-Trent

£90-£130 per day (DOE)

Simply Education is recruiting confident, adaptable and reliable Cover Supervisors to support a range of welcoming and diverse secondary schools across Stoke-on-Trent. We offer daily supply, short-term cover, and long-term placements, depending on your availability and career goals.

This role is ideal for individuals with experience working with young people who can confidently supervise classrooms and deliver pre-prepared lessons across a range of subjects.

Location & School Information

• Secondary schools throughout Stoke-on-Trent
• Supportive and experienced staff teams
• Mix of low-level disruption schools and more challenging behaviour settings
• Working with mixed KS3-KS4 year groups
• Roles available due to staff absences, internal promotions and increased school demand
• Schools vary in size, culture and Ofsted rating

Start Date & Contract Details

• Immediate start dates available
• April and September opportunities also available
• Daily supply, short-term and long-term roles
• Temp-to-perm routes available for strong performers
• Full-time and part-time patterns considered

Hours & Working Pattern

• Monday to Friday
• Typical hours: 8:15am-3:30pm
• Flexible / part-time options available

Salary & Pay

• £90-£130 per day
• PAYE available
• Pay reflects experience and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons to secondary classes
• Maintain behaviour and classroom routines
• Keep pupils on task and support learning where appropriate
• Supervise whole classes across a range of subjects
• Settle classes quickly and manage transitions
• Provide feedback to teaching staff after cover sessions
• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times

Requirements

• Experience working with young people (schools, coaching, youth work, mentoring, etc.)
• Strong behaviour management and classroom confidence
• Ability to deliver pre-prepared work effectively
• Flexible, resilient and reliable approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• A degree or prior school experience helpful but not essential
