Secondary schools across Washington are seeking confident, adaptable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to support teaching and learning on a full-time basis starting as soon as possible. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain school-based experience, develop strong classroom skills, or take the first step toward a career in teaching.
Role Responsibilities
* Supervise classes in the absence of the classroom teacher, ensuring students remain on task with pre-set work. * Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive, calm, and productive learning environment. * Support students with their learning where appropriate, encouraging engagement, confidence, and independence. * Follow school policies and procedures, including behaviour management and safeguarding requirements. * Provide clear instructions, answer basic questions, and deliver learning activities set by teaching staff. * Contribute to the wider school community when needed, including break duties or basic administrative tasks.
Requirements
