Counter Fraud Analyst\n\nLocation Manchester\n\nIdeal candidate profile\n\nThis role would suit an experienced analyst or a strong graduate with a genuine interest in data, fraud prevention, and analytics.\n\nThe ideal candidate or graduate will have hands on experience with data analysis and coding, particularly using Power BI, and be comfortable working with data sets to identify trends, patterns, and risks. You will be naturally curious, detail focused, and confident challenging data that does not look right.\n\nYou will enjoy working in a structured environment where accuracy matters, deadlines are real, and analysis drives decision making.\n\nThe role\n\nReporting to the Fraud Data and Intelligence Manager, you will be responsible for producing high quality management information, analysing fraud trends, and improving the systems and processes that help prevent exposure to fraud. This is a hands on analytical role with real influence across the business.\n\nYou will work closely with stakeholders to identify emerging fraud risks, challenge existing controls, and continuously improve how fraud is detected and managed.\n\nWhat you will be doing\n\n• Producing accurate, insightful MI and performance reports\n\n• Carrying out root cause and trend analysis\n\n• Developing new methods to identify and prevent fraud\n\n• Supporting the development and testing of counter fraud systems\n\n• Building and maintaining counter fraud databases\n\n• Reviewing and analysing system rules that protect the business\n\n• Providing initial system troubleshooting and working with suppliers\n\n• Managing fraud account administration\n\n• Supporting ad hoc analytical requests across the business\n\n• Ensuring compliance with FCA, DPA, TCF and internal governance standards\n\nWhat we are looking for\n\nEssential\n\n• Advanced Excel capability\n\n• Experience using SQL\n\n• Strong data analysis skills\n\n• Ability to work to deadlines with a high level of accuracy\n\n• Confident written and verbal communication skills\n\n• Strong background in Mathematics or Statistics\n\n• Insurance and fraud knowledge an advantage\n\nDesirable\n\n• Experience with Power BI\n\n• Knowledge of SAS Enterprise Guide or SAS Studio\n\n• Report writing experience\n\n• Degree level education in a mathematical or analytical discipline
