Nottingham (Hybrid - site-based, client + remote)
Salary DOE + Training + Development + Pension + Life Insurance
An excellent opportunity awaits a professional coming from a cost control background looking to take senior ownership across complex, high-profile defence programmes within a forward-thinking consultancy offering progression and real influence.
This company is a growing digital and project controls consultancy operating across major infrastructure and secure defence environments, strengthening cost, planning and digital capability within highly regulated sectors.
In this role you'll be embedded within a large-scale defence programme environment, leading cost control across one or more significant workstreams. You'll establish and maintain robust cost baselines, oversee forecasting, and ensure EVM discipline is applied properly. You'll analyse variance, identify cost risk early, and provide clear financial assurance to senior stakeholders. The working pattern is hybrid, typically 3 days on-site in Nottingham and 2 days remote.
The ideal candidate will have significant cost control experience within defence, aerospace or similarly regulated environments. You'll be confident owning forecasting and variance analysis, comfortable operating within structured governance frameworks, and experienced briefing senior stakeholders. Strong EVM capability is essential, along with the ability to challenge assumptions where required. The right person must be eligible for SC clearance.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior cost professional who wants programme-level ownership within nationally significant defence work, influence over financial performance, and progression into broader project controls leadership as the consultancy grows.
The Role:
*Lead cost control across major defence programmes or portfolios
*Establish and maintain cost baselines and forecasts
*Oversee EVM performance and variance analysis
*Identify cost risk and efficiency opportunities
*Hybrid split - 3 days on-site in Nottingham, 2 days remote
The Person:
*Significant cost control experience within defence or regulated sectors
*Strong EVM, forecasting and variance ownership capability
*Comfortable briefing and influencing senior stakeholders
*Experience operating within formal governance frameworks
*Must be eligible for SC clearance
