Your new role
This position plays a pivotal role in driving strategic procurement initiatives across Corporate Services categories, ensuring full compliance with public sector regulations and frameworks. You will lead and support procurement activities, working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners to deliver innovative, value-driven, and compliant commercial solutions.

  • Manage complex procurement projects involving multiple stakeholders and challenging deadlines.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other business areas to define requirements and shape procurement strategies.
  • Engage with suppliers to promote innovation, secure value for money, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Draft, negotiate, and manage contracts with robust commercial terms and effective risk mitigation.
  • Oversee procurement pipelines to ensure timely delivery of critical projects.
  • Lead end-to-end procurement processes for Corporate Services, including market engagement, tendering, evaluation, and contract award.



What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven track record in public sector Corporate Services.
  • Strong understanding of UK public procurement regulations, including PCR15 and PA23.
  • Experience using frameworks
  • Familiarity with eProcurement platforms (e.g., Atamis, Jaggaer) and contract management systems.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of running end-to-end Procurements in a public sector organisation
  • Tendering experience framed under the Public Procurement regulations.



What you'll get in return
Flexible working options are available on a remote basis, but you must be able to commute to the office when required, which is a minimum of 1 time per month. You will be privy to Hays worker discounts and weekly timesheet payments, through either the relative PAYE or Umbrella pay methods. This role sits inside IR35, so no limited companies. The role will be until the end of March 2026 and subject to extending further.
