Controls Transformation Manager

Location: London (Canary Wharf)

Benefits: £4,500 car allowance + performance bonus

Are you ready to lead in a fast-growing, high-impact area of enterprise risk? We’re looking for a Controls Transformation Manager to join a dynamic team focused on helping financial institutions strengthen their control frameworks and respond to evolving regulatory demands.

About the Role

As a Controls Transformation Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering advisory engagements across internal controls, SOx compliance, and risk assessments. You’ll work closely with clients to design, implement, and optimise control frameworks, while also mentoring junior staff and collaborating with offshore teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of advisory engagements including SOx assistance, risk assessments, and internal controls diagnostics
• Design and develop risk and control frameworks, testing plans, and reports
• Coach and mentor team members, supporting their development
• Collaborate with offshore teams to build capability in SOx regulations
• Identify and communicate control issues and best practices to clients
• Support practice management activities such as resource planning and staff development
• Contribute to thought leadership and development of new service offerings
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high-quality delivery
• Manage engagement risk, financials, and administrative tasks

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in internal controls evaluation, ICFR, and SOx 404 within banking or financial services
• Background in assurance, risk management, or compliance (consulting or in-house)
• Familiarity with banking processes such as credit, valuations, lending, and EIR
• Knowledge of UK and US audit regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to identify control deficiencies and recommend improvements
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, SOx, COSO, and IT control frameworks
• Proven experience leading teams and managing projects

Desirable Qualifications

• ACA, CMI, or FRM qualified (or equivalent)
• Previous consulting experience
• Experience with a Big 4 or similar professional services firm
