We have an excellent opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer with experience in PLC (Programmable Logic Control), HMI (Human Machine Interface), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and DCS (Distributed Control System) to join our team in Cumbria.This is a permanent role and can be worked on a hybrid basis. Security Clearance will be required for this role. You will be a British Citizen with sole British Passport and not have worked outside the UK for periods of longer than 30 days within the past 5 years.As a Systems Engineer, you'll play a key role in the design, development, integration, and testing of complex systems tailored to meet the needs of our clients. Our people work together with clients to solve problems, unlock the potential of the connected world, and create solutions that deliver value.SUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIESYou will:Develop system architectures, designs, and detailed specifications to meet client requirements.Integrate various subsystems and components to form a cohesive system, ensuring compatibility and performance.Execute system testing and validation activities to verify that systems meet design specifications and performance criteria.Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including requirements, design specifications, test plans and operator manuals.Analyse and translate client requirements into functional and non-functional specifications.Participate in technical discussions with the project teams and identify and resolve technical issues.Support commissioning at client sites.Support and specify procurement activities as required.Be actively involved in the manufacture, assembly and testing of bespoke systems.Suggest changes and improvements if opportunities arise.Engage in continuous learning to develop technical skills and knowledge relevant to system integration.Communicate with clients to understand their needs and ensure their satisfaction with the delivered system.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, workshop and project management, to ensure successful project delivery.Follow all health and safety regulations, procedures and protocols.Support the delivery of the project scope to company quality management system, process and procedures.Have base knowledge of client specific standards and international standards.Engage in quality and technical reviews.Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the role.EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGEMinimum of 2 years' experience with a relevant qualification or 4 years' experience in systems engineering or equivalent role.Good understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies.Good knowledge of Software Packages relevant to the role of a Systems Engineer i.e. PLC (Programmable Logic Control), HMI (Human Machine Interface), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and DCS (Distributed Control System).Familiarity and experience with system integration processes, tools and technologies.A basic understanding of industry and company quality management systems, process and procedure.Good verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and client interaction.Our Client has a 50 year history with combined skills and experience, with the knowledge of many recognised and respected industry names to become a leading partner for industry.They develop and integrate digital transformation solutions for Energy, Nuclear and Industrial manufacturing sectors, and advance safe, secure and sustainable operations through the innovative use of technology.STAFF PACKAGE / BENEFITS available on application JBRP1_UKTJ
