PLC Control Engineer - Automation & Control Systems
We are a global provider of automation and control solutions supporting manufacturing sites across multiple industries. As part of our transition from legacy PLC-based systems to a next- control platform, we are expanding our engineering team.
The Role
We're seeking a PLC Control Engineer to support existing PLC systems and help deliver and commission our next- control solution. You'll be involved in the full project lifecycle, including design, configuration, PLC programming, and on-site commissioning. The role is hybrid between two UK sites with opportunities for travel and hands-on experience with experienced engineers in a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance legacy PLC software
Configure and commission next- control systems
PLC programming using in-house SCADA tools
Gather technical requirements and support customers
On-site commissioning (UK and occasional overseas)
Out-of-hours support as required (post-probation)
Skills & Experience
Proven experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming
Experience with Siemens (TIA Portal / Simatic Manager) or Mitsubishi PLCs
Good understanding of SCADA systems
Comfortable working in Windows Server / PC environments
Desirable: electrical engineering background, C/C++/C#, SQL Server experience
About You
5+ years' experience in a PLC engineering role within a manufacturing environment
Comfortable working on-site and engaging with customers
Full UK driving licence
Office-based role across two UK locations
