Control and Instrumentation Engineer - Woking
Up to £60k Basic Salary + 25 Days Holiday + Pension + Benefits
Location - Woking | Surrey
We currently have a superb opportunity for an experienced Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join a leading client of ours within the CHP (Combined Heat and Power), Power and District Energy sector.
You'll be responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and development of control, automation, and metering systems across our district heating, cooling, and private wire electricity networks.
Job Summary:
Maintain and optimise SCADA and PLC systems for reliable energy network operations.
Manage and integrate Building Management Systems (BMS) with control platforms.
Administer and develop SCADA systems (e.g. Wonderware System Platform).
Oversee fiscal metering and AMR systems (M-Bus, GSM, LoRaWAN).
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Diagnose and repair instrumentation and control faults.
Support system upgrades and asset integration.
Liaise with contractors and suppliers for project delivery.
Maintain technical documentation and system records.
Contribute to cybersecurity and data integrity efforts.
Provide technical support and training to internal teams.
Qualifications and Skills We Are Looking For:
HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering.
Experience in district energy, utilities, or process industries.
Hands-on expertise with SCADA, PLC, and BMS systems.
Knowledge of fiscal metering and AMR technologies.
Strong problem-solving and IT skills.
EngTech/IEng registration (or working towards).
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
