The Role We will secure funding for improvements by maximising grants and investing in retrofit works that reduce carbon emissions and lower energy bills for our customers. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of our Warm Homes programme, ensuring quality, compliance, performance and value for money through effective management of our principal contractor. You will contribute to strengthening Southway’s strategic partnership with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, playing a key role in improving energy performance, reducing carbon emissions, and tackling fuel poverty through a fabric‑first approach, helping our customers live in warm, affordable homes. Responsibilities
Lead contract management of the Warm Homes programme, ensuring high standards, effective planning and alignment with five‑year objectives. Manage and support the Retrofit Surveyor, Community Engagement Officer and Sustainability Coordinator, driving improvements in team methods and processes to maximise performance and customer care. Prepare and submit grant funding bids to the GMCA, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within budget, maximising value for money. Oversee the delivery of the Warm Homes programme, ensuring quality, compliance, performance and value for money through effective principal contractor management. Maintain full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle for site visits and meetings within South Manchester.
Qualifications
Confident and experienced contracts professional with a strong track record in managing property or asset‑related contracts such as JCT measured term. Proven ability to lead contract management, manage support teams and deliver projects within budget and on schedule. Experience preparing grant funding bids and liaising with local authorities. Strong organisational and communication skills, with a knack for teamwork and stakeholder engagement. Full UK driving licence and reliable vehicle required.
The role offers a 35‑hour week, competitive salary, excellent contributory pension scheme, flexible working and 14 days holiday increasing to 20 days.
