Contracts Manager - Repairs

New Yesterday

I'm currently working with a London-based Housing Association that is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to support their reactive repairs service on an interim basis.
This is a great opportunity for a hands-on contracts professional who enjoys being out on site, challenging contractors, and ensuring residents receive a high-quality repairs service.
The Role
The organisation operates a fully outsourced repairs model with no DLO in place. You'll be responsible for managing contractor performance, with a strong emphasis on post-inspections of completed reactive works.
The main contractor is Axis Europe, supported by a small number of medium-sized contractors. The role is inspection-led and requires regular travel across London.
Key Responsibilities
Carrying out post-inspections on reactive repairs works
Monitoring contractor quality, performance, and compliance
Ensuring works meet agreed specifications, KPIs, and housing standards
Identifying defects and driving timely remedial action
Challenging poor workmanship and holding contractors to account
Working closely with internal teams to support service delivery
What They're Looking For
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within social housing repairs
Strong background in reactive repairs and outsourced delivery models
Comfortable spending time on site - around one day per week minimum, with flexibility required
Confident dealing with large contractors and managing performance
London-based or able to travel easily across the region
What's on Offer
£300-£350 per day depending on experience
6-month contract with a well-regarded Housing Association
This role would suit a practical, delivery-focused Contracts Manager who enjoys being visible on site and driving standards across reactive repairs
