Contract Senior Structural Engineer

Location: London (Hybrid Working) Rate: Up to c£50 per hour (Experience dependant) Contract Length: 6 Months Start Date: Immediate IR35 Status: Inside IR35

The Opportunity

A leading international engineering consultancy based in Central London is seeking an experienced Contract Senior Structural Engineer to join their team on a high-profile, technically challenging portfolio of projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on design-focused engineer with a strong background in building structures to work within a respected global consultancy delivering complex and prestigious schemes across the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

You will play a pivotal role in the technical delivery of a wide range of projects, including:

* High-rise building developments

* Major commercial and retail structures

* Hotels and museum projects

* Sports and entertainment complexes

The role is heavily design-led and will involve producing and reviewing detailed structural designs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting project delivery from concept through to construction.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Minimum 8–10+ years’ structural design experience within building structures

* Strong hands-on design expertise in steel and reinforced concrete

* Proven experience working on technically complex projects

* The ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team

Experience with seismic design is advantageous but not essential. Chartership (or near-chartership) with ICE or IStructE (MICE or MIStructE) is preferred.
