Principal Engineer - Contract - EC&I - Staffordshire - Outside IR35 - 6-month contract - £500-£585/day - Hybrid Must have a British passport for security clearance. Principal or Lead Engineers applying for the role cannot hold dual nationality. You must be a British passport holder and have lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years, as you will be put through security clearance if you haven't already got it. Key Aspects of the Principal Engineer Role
Take charge of and lead project teams delivering electrical control systems, industrial software and electrical safety systems to customers in the defence sector Have first class stakeholder engagement and management skills Current SC level security clearance would be an advantage but isn't essential Initiate, oversee and lead all engineering activities on a project or group of projects Knowledge of working to ISO 9001 standards is key Oversee the activities of the team and help overcome problems by providing guidance Be comfortable working in the defence sector Enjoy a sensible work‑life balance, leaving the office by 4:30 pm daily and having 30 days holiday per year, plus statutory bank holidays Role will initially be based from the Stafford office (3 days per week) and home (2 days per week) with occasional day trips to customer sites
