Statkraft is looking for a candidate to join a professional team responsible for managing and operating commercial contracts related to our market access portfolio in the UK. In a dynamic business environment, the Contract Operations team is the bridge between the origination/business development teams and the support functions and takes responsibility for the quality of data, transactional validation, billing, market compliance, financial reporting and related services.
Reporting to the Contract Operations UK PPA & Retail Manager, this role requires someone who can understand, implement and develop the contractual complexities of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Corporate PPAs and wholesale energy contracts, be energy market experienced, be technically adaptable and have knowledge of financial systems and processes.
The role carries a great deal of autonomy and accountability and is suited to someone with UK electricity market experience and who is inquisitive, progressive and methodical: the successful candidate will have initiative, be prepared to build customer and stakeholder relationships and develop the processes upon which the team depends.
Job Description- Key resource supporting daily business operations (end to end contract management, contract settlement, invoicing, providing input for PnL reporting among other tasks.)
- Engage in projects in close cooperation with our key internal customers in the UK, Amsterdam, Oslo and Dusseldorf (Commercial, Technical and Finance teams)
- Establishing reliable interfaces by working in close cooperation with internal and external customers
- Contribute to our continuous improvement principle, identifying potential synergies between new and existing business and prepare our processes for future growth
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for business processes, ensuring transparency and continuity.+ Assure high quality billing – create, verify and manage settlement of commercial and industry stakeholders
- Track cash allocations and debt positions
- Perform month-end closing tasks
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in business, finance, accounting, or a related field
- Initial experience in an operations-focused role within the energy sector
- Exposure to the UK energy market; willingness to develop a solid understanding of PPA and Retail market
- Basic knowledge of contract management, market communication, or settlement processes is beneficial
- Familiarity with SQL for basic reporting and data analysis; interest in learning Python or other scripting languages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Enthusiastic about working with diverse stakeholders and building collaborative relationships
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently, while being a strong team player
