CI Lead (Continuous Improvement Lead)
Fulltime – Days – Gloucester – Salary £40,000–£45,000
Clearance: British passport holder (ideally able to obtain SC clearance)
As CI Lead, you’ll take ownership of the site’s Continuous Improvement programme, embedding Lean ways of working across manufacturing and driving measurable improvements in performance. The focus is on building capability, coaching teams, and running structured improvement activity that reduces waste, improves flow and strengthens problem-solving across the operation.
What good looks like: a true CI professional (CI as the day job, not a technical role with a bit of CI), strong Lean knowledge, engaging style, confident facilitator, and structured problem-solver (8D or similar) with solid manufacturing experience.
The Role:
·       Own and help define the site CI programme, setting direction and ensuring improvement activity is aligned to operational priorities.
·       Lead Lean deployment across the manufacturing value stream(s), coaching and influencing at all levels to embed CI behaviours.
·       Facilitate and run CI events/workshops (Kaizen, mapping, root cause, rapid problem-solving) and drive actions through to completion.
·       Support and coach structured problem-solving using an 8D-style approach (or equivalent) to get to root cause and implement sustainable corrective actions.
·       Track and communicate CI progress using meaningful measures/KPIs, ensuring visibility of improvements and engagement across Operations.
·       Work closely with Operations leadership to identify opportunities, remove constraints and build continuous improvement capability on the shop floor.
The Person:
·       Proven experience in a dedicated CI / Lean role within a manufacturing environment (not CI as a side piece of a technical role).
·       Strong working knowledge of Lean tools and principles; able to apply practically and coach others.
·       Engaging, credible and able to influence, facilitate and bring people with you at all levels
·       Strong problem-solving capability using a structured method (8D or similar).
·       Comfortable helping shape and drive a CI programme, not just delivering isolated projects.
·       British passport holder and likely able to obtain SC clearance.
