Container Transport Operator - Southampton - Up to £40,000
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Traffic Operator to join a busy transport operation. This role involves coordinating drivers, liaising with ports, and ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of cargo while maintaining excellent communication with both drivers and customers. Shifts: Monday to Friday (Occasional Saturday) Job type: Permanent Salary: Up to £40,000 Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Discretionary bonus
Duties & Responsibilities
Dealing with multiple drivers on a daily basis Communicating with ports to coordinate movements and bookings Booking delivery slots for port entry Using the TOPS transport system to record driver start and finish times Chasing drivers for ETAs and ensuring timely arrivals Rerouting jobs as required to meet operational demands Checking all PODs are correctly matched with the relevant jobs on the system Speaking with customers regarding potential delays and advising ETAs
