About us

Foundation trusts provide what the health service wants, yet are also free to invest quickly in the changes to the local community needs, in striving to be the best, and in putting their patients first.

Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Gynae Imaging to join our friendly and forward‑thinking team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

The role includes active involvement in MDTs, cross‑specialty collaboration, and opportunities to contribute to education, audit, research, and departmental leadership roles. A strong commitment to clinical governance, quality assurance, peer review, and adherence to Trust safety policies is essential, as is participation in maintaining accreditation under the Quality Standard for Imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Active involvement in MDTs and cross‑specialty collaboration
  • Contribution to education, audit, research, and departmental leadership roles
  • Commitment to clinical governance and quality assurance
  • Adherence to Trust safety policies
  • Participation in maintaining accreditation under the Quality Standard for Imaging

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a current GMC Licence to Practise. It is essential that candidates are either listed on the General Medical Council Specialist Register or are within six months of achieving CCT (for trainees currently in a UK training programme). Applicants who are not yet on the Specialist Register but can clearly demonstrate equivalent consultant‑level experience in chest and cardiac imaging will also be considered for this post.

Our Team and Services

We employ more than 6,500 staff who deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals, Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, as well as community sites, health centres and in patients' homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.

We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care; medical; surgical; maternity; gynaecology; critical care; children's and young people's services; end‑of‑life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres, such as Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.

Our Commitment

We continue to modernise and invest in our health services to build on our strong reputation. Foundation trusts are public leaders in improving quality in health services. They are part of the NHS – yet decisions about what they do and how they do it are driven by independent boards. Boards listen to their Council of Governors and respond to the needs of their members – patients, staff and the local community.
