Consultant in Orthodontics Location: Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary / Glasgow Dental Hospital Salary: £111,430 - £148,064 Hours: 24 hpw, (6 sessions per Week) We are pleased to invite applications for the post of Consultant in Orthodontics, working 6 sessions per week. This substantive post is primarily based at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary (DGRI), with occasional clinical commitments at the Galloway Community Hospital in Stranraer. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive diagnostic and advisory service for patients referred to the Orthodontic Department at DGRI. The role will focus particularly on the interdisciplinary management of Dentofacial/Craniofacial conditions and Hypodontia cases, working closely with colleagues across specialties to deliver high‑quality patient care. As a member of the Consultant team, the postholder will contribute to the effective functioning of the department and will support the professional supervision and development of Training Grade staff. An established Managed Clinical Network (MCN) in Orthodontics operates across Dumfries and Galloway, incorporating two Specialist Practices in Dumfries and one in Ayr. It is anticipated that the appointed Consultant will assume the role of Clinical Lead for the MCN. Dumfries and Galloway is a region of outstanding natural beauty, offering everything from rugged coastline and sandy beaches to serene forests and rolling hills. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy watersports, fishing, birdwatching, golf, mountain biking, and cycling across an extensive network of rural roads.
