We are recruiting a Consultant in Public Health to join our dynamic and diverse team.

Our Public Health function is multi-disciplinary and has a broad reach across the council and works in service of the city, supporting and with our Integrated Care System.

Applicants should have well developed competencies in all core areas of specialist public health and be comfortable working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

The position sits within our Protecting Health Programme area, matrix working across the division with a key role in ensuring that systems and processes are in place to prevent and protect our communities from health harms and hazards. Relationship building and strong team working are essential to these roles.

This role has specific responsibility for

Consultants in Public hold professional, managerial and corporate responsibilities and are accountable at the most senior level.

Applicants must be registered with the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists or the GMC Full and Specialist Register with a license to practice/GDC Specialist List (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview).

Job descriptions are generic covering all areas of competency and domains of public health as required by FPH and specialty registration. Portfolio descriptions are attached to each role.

This allows both the organization and the individual to flex and develop.
