Consultant Paediatric and Adolescent Oncologist – Children and Young People’s Cancer ServiceUniversity College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled colleague to join our team delivering expert care to children and young people with cancer. This is one of four substantive consultant posts in the service, created as part of a workforce redesign to improve attractiveness and sustainability of working practices.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver emergency duties, including on‑call work, as part of a 1:7 on‑call rota for paediatric oncology and 1:7 weekend coverage.Attend approximately 10 weeks per year of clinical activity, providing acute oncology care in inpatient, ambulatory, radiotherapy suites and outpatient settings. Conduct a minimum of 2 formal ward rounds per week.Run at least 2 outpatient clinics per week.Participate in multi‑disciplinary meetings, including the London sarcoma service MDTs, GOSH joint children’s MDT, and psychosocial MDTs for paediatrics and TYA.Manage administration directly related to clinical duties (e.g., referrals and notes).Supporting ActivitiesSub‑specialty service development.Undergraduate teaching and examining.Postgraduate teaching and educational supervision (pending accreditation).Research, governance and quality improvement activities.Represent the division on committees.Personal CPD.Additional InformationThe service covers eight NHS sites, including University College Hospital (Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Wing), National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Royal National ENT and Eastman Dental Hospitals, Grafton Way Building, Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, Macmillan Cancer Centre, Hospital for Tropical Diseases and Westmoreland Street. The Trust manages a large sarcoma service with approximately 500 new patients each year across two sites.Applications will be considered on a rolling basis and may close earlier than the advertised date.
