You will be responsible for both planning and delivering high-quality practical learning in a workshop-based environment.Key Responsibilities - LutonPlan and deliver engaging Construction lessons tailored to learner needsLead practical workshop-based sessions (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, brickwork or general construction skills)Set and deliver all learning activities, ensuring appropriate differentiation for individual studentsTake responsibility for planning, preparation, and marking of student workManage classroom behaviour in line with PRU expectations and behaviour policiesDeliver lessons to very small groups of students (2-4 learners per session)Teach 40-minute and 80-minute sessions depending on the timetableBuild positive, consistent relationships to support engagement and progressSupport EHCP targets and individual learning plans where requiredWork closely with pastoral staff, SENCOs, and wider support teamsEnsure a safe, structured, and well-managed workshop environment at all timesWe are looking for a Construction Teacher who:Has strong experience working within a workshop environment (carpentry, plumbing, brickwork, or general construction)Is confident both setting and delivering practical work independentlyHas experience working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (PRU or similar setting desirable)Can manage small groups effectively and maintain strong behaviour expectationsIs resilient, calm, and consistent in approachIs passionate about supporting vulnerable learners back into educationWhat the Role Offers - LutonImmediate start in a supportive PRU settingTemporary position with potential for extensionSmall class sizes (2-4 students per group)Structured timetable with 40- and 80-minute lessonsOpportunity to make a real and lasting impact on young people's livesValuable experience within specialist education and PRU settingsApply today and help learners rebuild confidence, skills, and a pathway into their future in the education and training sector.JBRP1_UKTJ
