The Company\nOur client is a leading, well-established family-owned construction company with an enviable port- folio of blue chip clients. Continued expansion of their Leeds office has created a requirement for an experienced Quantity Surveyor.\nThe Position\nAs the Construction Quantity Surveyor your role will involve carrying out a variety of duties, including\n * Formulating excel reports and presenting commercial sections to clients\n * Cost value reconciliation reporting/forecasting, WIPS, valuations, cash flows, procurement schedules\n * Issuing enquiries and appointment of subcontractors in line with procurement schedule\n * Subcontractor pre-start/progress/final account meetings\n * Prelim monitoring/staffing/labour allowances\n * Take offs for subcontract/material packages/preparation of bill of quantities\n * Variation pricing\n * Estimating construction activities, working with internal MEP and firestopping estimators\nYou should therefore have experience of the following key areas;\n * Design and build / traditional forms of contract experience\n * JCT/NEC/Bespoke contracts/subcontract experience\n * Main Contracting and Subcontracting experience\n * Refurbishment/New Build experience\n * Sectors – healthcare/education experience\n * Experience of working on schemes with Mechanical, Electrical and Ventilation requirements\n * Ability to price variations/tenders\n * Working as a commercial lead within a smaller team with Site Manager/PM\n * Ability to manage multiple projects\nThe Person\n * Full UK driving licence\n * Degree in Quantity Surveying Qualification or similar\n * 3 years plus experience in the industry after qualifications\n * Strong numerical and analytical skills\n * Strong IT skills using the likes of excel/word as a minimum\n * Good communication and negotiation skills\n * Problem solving ability to identify and resolve logically\n * Teamwork capabilities to work with others on site or in the office\n * Reasonable industry knowledge of construction methods, materials and legislation\n * Attention to detail for all works\nApex Resourcing Solutions is a recruitment agency acting on behalf of this company
