Our client is a leading Civil Engineering contractor known for their commitment to excellence, safety, and sustainability. They focus on Demolition, Groundworks, Substructure works & Rail.
They are currently seeking a Planner or Senior Planner to join a growing team at their head office in Suffolk and work on projects with a values up to £20 million in the South East.
Position Overview:
As a Construction Planner, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing construction programmes on civils projects in the South East.
Reporting into the Lead Planner, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes using planning software such as ASTA & P6.
* Work collaboratively with project teams to define scope, milestones, and delivery timelines
* Monitor project progress, identifying delays, risks, and mitigation strategies
* Integrate subcontractor programmes into the master construction schedule
* Produce and present progress reports, programme updates, and look-ahead schedules
* Liaise with site teams to capture real-time progress and update programmes accordingly
* Support pre-construction activities, including baseline programme development
* Undertake critical path analysis and programme impact assessments
* Contribute to progress reporting, risk management, and project forecasting
* Ensure planning activities align with contractual and project requirements
Qualifications/Requirements:
* Minimum 5 years' UK construction planning experience
* Proven experience on large CIVILS projects
* Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
* Proficient in ASTA/P6.
* Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and project lifecycles
* Highly organised with strong analytical and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams
