Job Title: Interim Construction Manager - Data Centre Project

Contract Type: Contractor / Interim

Contract Length: 9 - 12 months with view of extension

Rate: Negotiable

Location: Birmingham


The ideal candidate will take full ownership of on‑site delivery, ensuring all construction activities meet programme, quality, safety, and cost targets. They will lead subcontractors and project teams, resolve issues quickly, and act as the central point of coordination to keep the project moving efficiently.


Responsibilities


  • Full responsibility for on‑site construction delivery in line with programme, cost, quality, and safety targets.
  • Manage multiple subcontractor packages, including: • Civil & Structural • MEP installation (HV/LV, cooling, mechanical, fire systems) • External works and utilities
  • Lead daily and weekly site coordination meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with UK HSE regulations, site safety plans, and EPC standards.
  • Work closely with client representatives, design teams, engineering, commissioning, and quality teams.
  • Oversee site logistics, access control, permits, inspections, and material flow.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and phased handover activities.


Requirements


  • Proven experience as a Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager on Data Centre or mission‑critical projects.
  • Strong understanding of MEP‑heavy construction environments.
  • Experience working for a GC/MC/EPC contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE regulations and compliance.


Desirable


  • Experience on hyperscale Data Centre projects.
