Job Description
Civils Construction Manager (Rail) - OUTSIDE IR35\n\nMy client is seeking an experienced and driven Civils Construction Manager to lead the delivery of complex civil engineering work packages within the rail sector. Based in their Manchester hub, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of projects ranging from platform extensions and bridge renewals to drainage and lineside structures.\n\nYou will act as the vital link between the design team and the site-based workforce, ensuring that Manchester's rail infrastructure is upgraded to the highest standards of engineering excellence.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nManage all on-site civil engineering activities, ensuring adherence to Network Rail standards, technical specifications, and project timelines.\n\nChampion a "Safety First" culture. Produce and oversee Work Package Plans (WPPs), Task Briefing Sheets (TBS), and ensure all COSS/Safe System of Work requirements are met.\n\nMonitor progress against the project program, managing resources, plant, and materials to prevent delays and budget overruns.\n\nLiaise with clients (Network Rail, TfGM), subcontractors, and local authorities to coordinate possessions and minimise disruption to the Manchester public.\n\nProvide expert guidance on civil engineering challenges, ensuring quality control and the successful hand-back of assets.\n\nCandidate Requirements\n\nProven track record as a Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager within the UK Rail sector.\n\nDeep understanding of civil engineering disciplines (concrete works, earthworks, structural steel, etc.) specifically in a rail environment.\n\nCertifications:\n\nPTS (Personal Track Safety) - Essential.\n\nSMSTS or SSSTS.\n\nCOSS or Crane Controller ().\n\nHNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering ().\n\nAPPLY NOW!\n\nRandstad CPE values and promotes equality.
