Computer Science Teacher

Academics Canterbury are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Computer Science Teacher to join a good school in Thanet. As a Computer Science Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching and inspiring students at both the secondary and A-level ranges. This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team of educators committed to academic excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver dynamic computer science lessons, ensuring they align with the curriculum standards and educational goals of the school
  • Create engaging and interactive learning experiences that cater to students of diverse abilities and learning styles
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to effective learning
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress and personal growth
  • Use innovative teaching techniques, including digital resources, to enhance student understanding and engagement
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and the computer science department to develop curriculum materials and assessments
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of computer science and share this knowledge with students and colleagues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (relevant teaching qualifications are advantageous)
  • Proven experience teaching computer science at secondary and A-levels, preferably in a private school setting
  • Deep understanding of computer science concepts and programming languages
  • Familiarity with curriculum frameworks, such as GCSE, A-level, or IB Computer Science
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Passion for education and a genuine desire to support students' academic and personal development
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
