Computer Science Teacher
Academics Canterbury are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Computer Science Teacher to join a good school in Thanet. As a Computer Science Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching and inspiring students at both the secondary and A-level ranges. This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team of educators committed to academic excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver dynamic computer science lessons, ensuring they align with the curriculum standards and educational goals of the school
- Create engaging and interactive learning experiences that cater to students of diverse abilities and learning styles
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to effective learning
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to support their academic progress and personal growth
- Use innovative teaching techniques, including digital resources, to enhance student understanding and engagement
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and the computer science department to develop curriculum materials and assessments
- Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of computer science and share this knowledge with students and colleagues
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field (relevant teaching qualifications are advantageous)
- Proven experience teaching computer science at secondary and A-levels, preferably in a private school setting
- Deep understanding of computer science concepts and programming languages
- Familiarity with curriculum frameworks, such as GCSE, A-level, or IB Computer Science
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
- Passion for education and a genuine desire to support students' academic and personal development
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
