Job Purpose The Compliance Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and operational integrity of social housing assets. With a primary focus on asbestos management and lift safety , the role is responsible for maintaining statutory compliance in line with current health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practice standards.
This includes managing inspection programmes, overseeing contractor performance, ensuring remedial actions are completed, and maintaining accurate asset records. The role also involves managing budgets effectively to ensure value for money across compliance activity. Working closely with internal teams and external contractors, this role supports a proactive compliance culture that prioritises resident wellbeing and asset longevity.
Key Responsibilities - What You’ll Do Ensure statutory compliance with asbestos and lift safety legislation, regulations, and internal policies across the housing stock.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date asbestos registers and lifting equipment asset records, including all relevant dates and activity logs.
Coordinate asbestos surveys arising from various operational workflows and ensure timely completion of recommendations.
