Community & Growth Operations Manager

(Testing Communities & Insights)

London (2 days in-office)

About Alterdd

Alterdd is building the fit intelligence layer for fashion production.

We predict how clothes fit real bodies, before purchase, and give brands visibility into fit performance at a SKU level.

Fit drives clothing returns, discounting, and customer frustration.

But today, brands are still designing against size charts, not real bodies.

We’re changing that.

The Role

We’re hiring a Community & Growth Operations Manager to build and run our testing communities.

You’ll work directly with the founder and take ownership of how we build and run these communities: bringing in the right people, keeping them engaged, and turning their participation into high-quality, structured insights.

This is a hands-on role focused on running real-world testing through people, not traditional marketing or performance growth.

What You'll Do

Build and grow testing communities

- Recruit and onboard groups of people to take part in in-person fit testing

- Actively reach out, pitch, and bring the right participants into the community

- Build a reliable base of testers we can work with repeatedly

Drive engagement and participation

- Create energy around participating — this should feel engaging, not transactional

- Run sessions, groups, or moments that get people involved and responding

- Keep participation high across multiple cohorts

- Use content, messaging, and lightweight campaigns to keep communities active

Run structured testing

- Coordinate testing across specific garments and user groups

- Manage the end-to-end process from brief through to feedback

- Ensure testing is organised, repeatable, and runs smoothly

Design how we capture useful data

- Shape how we ask for feedback so responses are clear and consistent

- Design simple, structured ways for people to report how garments fit

- Continuously improve how we capture data to increase response rates and quality

Maintain quality and consistency

- Ensure data collected is reliable and usable

- Spot where data is inconsistent or weak and improve it

- Balance ease of participation with the level of detail we need

Work closely with the founder

- Help define what we test and how we run it

- Feed insights from testing back into product and strategy

- Identify gaps and prioritise what to test next

What We're Looking For

- 3+ years experience in a startup, operations, community, growth, or similar role

- High energy and proactive — you’re comfortable reaching out, starting conversations, and getting people involved

- Strong instinct for what makes people engage and follow through

- Comfortable with a degree of “sales” — you can pitch an idea and get people excited to take part

- Experience building or running communities, user groups, or similar

- Confident working directly with people — you enjoy running sessions and engaging groups

- Strong execution skills — organised, reliable, and able to run multiple things at once

- Clear communicator — you can write simply and persuasively

- Detail-oriented — you care about collecting high-quality, consistent information

- Able to operate independently and build processes from scratch

- Commercially aware — you understand how this connects to product and business outcomes

- Marketing Experience is a bonus

Why This Role is Different

Most roles optimise for traffic or engagement.

This role builds the system that turns real-world participation into structured insight.

Your work directly impacts:

- how the product improves

- the insights we generate

- the long-term defensibility of the company

You won’t be handed a playbook.

You’ll be expected to build one.
