An exciting opportunity to work on a 12 month contract as a Net Zero External Relations Officer to work hybrid in the Newport area, offering a superb benefits package.

The position is to support the delivery of Corporate Affairs, stakeholder relations, and Net Zero strategies. The role focuses on coordinating and executing communications and engagement activities that positively highlight Net Zero performance and progress through media, stakeholder, and public affairs initiatives.

• Develop and deliver a proactive media strategy, creating engaging stories and using the most effective channels to reach target audiences.

• Manage participation in collaborative industry-wide communications and engagement campaigns.

• Support public affairs activity by coordinating events, preparing briefing materials, and providing political monitoring and reporting insights.

• Contribute to the development of policy proposals aligned with Net Zero objectives.

• Produce and edit high-quality communications content, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistent alignment with organisational values and goals.

• Assist internal communications to promote colleague engagement around Net Zero initiatives.

• Provide wider team support through media monitoring, stakeholder liaison, monthly reporting, budgeting, and regulatory reporting tasks.

• Proven experience in communications, public affairs, or public relations.

• Strong understanding of stakeholder mapping and communication planning.

• Demonstrated ability to produce and deliver clear, engaging communications across varied platforms.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to quickly develop a thorough understanding of organisational priorities to maximise communication impact. xbpsjku
