This role is based at our client's office in Bridgwater and offered on a contract basis until Dec 2026, Inside IR35. Good daily rate on offer to the right candidate.Job Purpose / OverviewWorking in the Commissioning Team as part of the Planning Discipline of Project Controls, under the direction and leadership of the Commissioning Planning Manager, to be responsible for the management of the Level 2/4 (client) Integrated Work Schedule (IWS) in adherence with project processes. This will include managing the alignment of Level 3 (contract) schedules, and provision of time-related data and analysis. To support the IPC Planning Manager in leading central Planning activities for the Project and in developing Planning standards, policies and strategies. To support the client in making informed decisions to support the efficient and timely delivery of work scope.It is the overarching objective of the Integrated Project Controls (IPC) Function to act as a centre of excellence. the intelligent owners of the single source of delivery performance information, operating as an integrated enabler for the successful delivery of the Project.Key Interfaces include- Planning Discipline.- Other Integrated Project Controls Disciplines (Cost, Estimating, Risk, Performance Measurement & Analysis, Project Controls Managers (PCMs)).- Delivery Integration (Pre-Construction Planning).Challenges and Problem Solving- Ensure alignment of data between Planning and other Disciplines of Integrated Project Controls.- Manage schedule changes within the Programmes.- Work with key interfaces to identify and understand issues and concerns.- Collaboratively resolve issues, implement corrective action or escalate as required.Decision-Making- The jobholder will be responsible for Project data within their area of work and will have authority to make decisions relating to the maintenance of the data. The jobholder's line manager will be accountable for the data and material decisions will be referred upwards accordingly.Principal AccountabilitiesTeam:- Support the IPC Lead Planner in the implementation and maintenance of Project Controls processes for Planning,- Support Senior Project/ Programme Managers- including the production of monthly reports, through the provision of intelligent information and analysis.- Collaborate with other Disciplines of Integrated Project Controls, as well as other Project Support Functions, to help deliver Project goals in keeping with the client's principles of Trust, Transparency and TeamworkCore Processes:- Produce and maintain the schedule baseline IWS in Primavera 6 (P6), with fully logic-linked work plans aligned to the Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and utilising approved construction techniques.- Ensure the Level 2/4 IWS is updated to an agreed timeframe.- Assist in the Trend & Change process, including analysis at Project level, generating performance indicators and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.- Identify, analyse and provide solutions to time-related issues.- Co-ordinate, verify and produce Project-level schedule reports to a defined reporting cycle, including commentary on key time-related drivers and performance issues.- Adhere to Project governance and Scheduling standards and procedures.- Ensure all Project documents, in particular Sensitive Nuclear Information, are correctly protectively marked, and protected in accordance with EDF policies and procedures.Functional Management.- Accountable for the adherence of direct reports to Project governance and standards.- Proactively seek to continuously improve Discipline performance by implementing best practice and learning.- Facilitate collaboration with Programme teams and wider industry partners to ensure consistency and transparency in approach and data.- Take necessary care to ensure that direct reports properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorised disclosure, modification or destruction.- Support the recruitment process for the Discipline.- Act as a role model for Project and client by exhibiting and encouraging behaviours which are in alignment with the Projects values of Humility, Positivity, Clarity, Respect and Solidarity.Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & ExperienceKnowledge & Skills- Detailed understanding of scheduling methodologies and techniques.- Technical and practical comprehension of engineering, procurement and construction methods and techniques in a UK context.- Ability to produce accurate, complete and fully logic-linked construction plans.- Good working knowledge of P6.- Understanding of other Disciplines of Project Controls (particularly Estimating, Cost and Risk) including management techniques and associated software.- Understanding of earned value analysis.- Understanding of various contract types, in particular the NEC suite and FIDIC.- Working knowledge of schedule risk analysis techniques.- Good commercial awareness.- High level of analytical and numerical skills.- Good attention to detail.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all working and management levels.Qualifications & ExperienceEssential- Minimum of a degree in Engineering, Construction or other related field, or HND or equivalent qualification with recognised experience commensurate with a degree.- Professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status.- Proven relevant experience in a Project Management or Project Controls environment in a similar Scheduling role on a major construction project.- Substantial experience in the use of scheduling software, ideally Primavera P6 version 7 and above.- Experience of commercial contracting.Desirable- Experience in the use of an earned value management tool such as EcoSys.- Experience of developing estimates and budgets for major infrastructure programmes.- Experience of working in a large integrated team over the full lifecycle of a project.- Experience in the use of a risk management tool such as ARM.- Experience in presenting complex information to senior executives and shareholders.- Experience in the Nuclear sector.Key CompetenciesThe job-holder will be expected to have a working level of knowledge of, and to use, the following (or similar equivalent) software tools.- Primavera P6 (Scheduling).- Synchro (4D modelling).- Acumen Fuse (Schedule Analysis).- Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).- Teamcenter (Document Control).The Project Controls team operate or interface with the following key systems and a working knowledge of these systems would be an advantage.- EcoSys (Cost, Changes, Earned Value Management).- ARM (Risks, Opportunities, Trends).- @risk (QCRA).- Safran (QSRA).- Primavera P6 (Scheduling).- Adobe Professional (Report Publishing).- Power BI (Business Intelligence Analytics).- SAP (Financial).- CEMAR (Supply Chain).JBRP1_UKTJ
