In-House Commercial Solicitor Utilities / Infrastructure Sector Belfast - Hybrid Working Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits I am pleased to be working with a well-established organisation operating within the utilities and infrastructure sector, which is now seeking to appoint an In-House Commercial Solicitor to join its legal team. This is a broad, engaging role offering exposure to complex commercial, regulatory and strategic matters within a business delivering essential services and long-term infrastructure projects. This opportunity is well suited to a solicitor looking for high-quality in-house work, meaningful projects and a strong overall package, including flexibility and benefits rarely matched in private practice at this level. The Opportunity As part of a collaborative in-house legal function, you will provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice across the organisation. You'll work closely with colleagues across technical, operational and commercial teams, supporting key initiatives while helping the business manage risk and deliver its objectives. Key Responsibilities Advising on legal and regulatory obligations in a regulated utilities or infrastructure environment Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial and procurement contracts Supporting capital projects, infrastructure development and strategic initiatives Monitoring legislative and regulatory change and advising on operational impact Providing clear, practical advice to non-legal stakeholders Assisting with disputes and managing external legal advisors Supporting corporate governance and Board-related processes Contributing to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the legal team About You Qualified solicitor with 2+ years' post-qualification experience Experience across commercial contracts, procurement, regulatory or public-facing work Strong commercial judgement with a practical, solutions-focused mindset Comfortable working across multiple legal areas in a fast-moving environment Collaborative, approachable and confident working with non-legal colleagues Keen to develop expertise within a specialist, regulated sector Desirable (not essential): Experience in energy, utilities or another regulated industry Experience working in a large or complex organisation Interest in sustainability, infrastructure or energy transition What's on Offer Salary £40,000 - £50,000 plus bonus Excellent benefits package, including private health insurance Hybrid working and flexible start/finish times Strong emphasis on wellbeing and work-life balance Exposure to high-impact, long-term projects Clear professional development and progression opportunities Skills: Solicitor In-House Commercial
