Job Description
Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading Power company to recruit a Commercial Project Manager for a hybrid role working across CCGT sites in the north of the UK.\n\nThe Commercial Project Manager comes with a starting salary of up to £85,000 + car allowance + bonus + benefits.\n\nIf you're a Commercial Project Manager who has worked on projects of £500m or more and has experience in power or Carbon Capture then upload your CV to apply today.\n \n Responsibilities and duties of the Commercial Project Manager \n\nAs the Commercial Project Manager, you will:\n\nManage mid- to large-scale infrastructure projects, ensuring successful delivery on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.\nLead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a psychologically safe, inclusive, and diverse work environment.\nAct as a role model for leadership, empowering international teams and bridging cultural .\nOversee financial project management, including budgeting, cost control, and implementation of optimization measures.\nPlan and control energy asset projects, coordinating all commercial, contractual, and risk-related aspects.\nDevelop procurement strategies, select appropriate contract types, and collaborate with procurement and legal teams on contract preparation.\nManage relationships with internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment and effective communication.\nLead contract and claim management processes, including financial negotiations and coordination between procurement and contract management teams.\nEnsure high standards of health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) performance across all projects.\nImplement change control mechanisms to maintain compliance with financial policies and commercial requirements.\n Professional qualifications\n We are looking for someone with the following:\n\nDegree in an environmental or sustainability-related field.\nChartered status with a recognised environmental institution (or actively working towards it within 12 months) - highly desirable\nSignificant experience in environmental compliance and sustainability within a complex, operational environment.\nDemonstrated ability to design, implement, and embed compliance frameworks and best-practice standards.\nExperience delivering training, producing clear reporting, and supporting bid or project mobilisation activities. \n\nPersonal skills\n\nExcellent communication skills, persuasive and assertive, with the ability to work effectively in international teams.\nWillingness to travel as required for project needs.\nCommitment to and inclusion, valuing different perspectives to enhance outcomes.\n\nSalary and benefits of the Commercial Project Partner role:\n\nSalary of between £70,000 - £85,000\nBenefits including bonus & car allowance\nOpportunity to join leading power company \n INDPOW\n\nAstute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
