Job Title: Commercial Manager (full-time)

Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + commission

Location: Office based (minimum 2 days a week) with travel for external meetings

Reports to: CEO


Role Overview

We are seeking an ambitious and values driven Commercial Manager to lead and deliver partnership revenue and growth targets. This role will be responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships, driving new business opportunities, and maximising the value of existing relationships.

Working closely with the CEO, Head of Engagement and external agency partners, the successful candidate will play a central role in aligning commercial activity with brand, audience growth, and engagement objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on the delivery of Team Wales commercial strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets
  • Identify, secure, and onboard new commercial partners
  • Manage and nurture all existing partner relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention
  • Develop tailored partnership packages and proposals aligned with organisational objectives
  • Collaborate with the Head of Engagement to ensure commercial activity aligns with audience engagement and brand strategy
  • Work with external agency stakeholders to maximise partner visibility and campaign impact
  • Monitor and report on commercial performance, pipeline activity, and revenue forecasts

·       Support the planning and delivery of Business Club events, including identifying and inviting potential new partners and sourcing partner guest speakers.

·       Coordinate partner activation scheduling, ensuring clear ownership, timelines, and delivery across all activations.

·       Manage activation budgets, including planning, tracking spend, and reporting on budget performance.

·        Lead on the delivery of partner hospitality at external events, ensuring a high-quality experience for partners and alignment with commercial objectives.

  • Negotiate contracts and ensure delivery against agreed partnership terms
  • Stay informed on market trends and identify new opportunities for growth


Person Specification

Essential:

  • Proven experience in a commercial, partnerships, or business development role
  • Strong track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets
  • Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Confident negotiator with strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong creativity, with the ability to generate fresh and engaging content ideas
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience of monitoring analytics and preparing partner reports.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including outside normal working hours when required.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience within commercial, events, or a membership-based organisation
  • Understanding of digital and social media activation in a commercial context
  • Familiarity with the sporting landscape in Wales.
  • Welsh language skills (spoken and written).
