Commercial Manager (x2 roles)Location: Taunton (site-based)Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 DOE + bonus A leading UK infrastructure and engineering organisation is seeking two experienced Commercial Managers to join its growing project delivery team based in Taunton. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering complex, high-value projects within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. The Opportunity As Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of the commercial performance across designated projects, ensuring robust financial control, effective contract management, and strong commercial governance. Working closely with project leadership, finance teams, and the wider supply chain, you will help drive profitable project outcomes while maintaining compliance with contractual obligations. This role requires a commercially astute professional with a solid background in construction or infrastructure, strong knowledge of NEC contracts, and the ability to influence and support project teams to achieve best-in-class commercial outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead the commercial function across assigned projects, ensuring strong governance and financial control Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise value and profitability Take ownership of forecasting, cash flow, and cost-to-complete (CTC) reporting Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities Oversee contract administration under NEC and other relevant frameworks Prepare, negotiate, and agree applications for payment, variations, and final accounts Manage subcontractor accounts including valuations, payments, and change control Lead negotiations on contractual matters, variations, and claims Ensure compliance with all contractual processes, including early warnings and compensation events Maintain accurate commercial records and reporting throughout the project lifecycle Provide clear commercial guidance to project teams and support decision-making About You Proven experience in a Commercial Manager (or similar) role within construction, infrastructure, or utilities Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts (e.g. ECC, PSC) Demonstrable experience managing project finances, including forecasting and cost control Skilled in commercial negotiations and stakeholder management Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Confident communicator with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders What's on Offer Competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 DOE Performance-related bonus 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays Enhanced pension contributions Private medical insurance Life assurance and income protection Enhanced family-friendly policies Cycle to work scheme and wellbeing support Structured career development and progression opportunities This is a fantastic opportunity to join a business delivering innovative solutions across major UK infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.
