Commercial Manager — In-House Capital Projects
An exceptional opportunity for an experienced commercial professional to join the in-house capital projects team of a well-established, privately backed global organisation with operations spanning 30+ countries.
With a significant and growing international construction programme — driven by continued expansion through acquisition and development — this business offers a genuinely compelling platform for a senior commercial professional looking to make a meaningful impact in a client-side environment.
The Role
The Commercial Manager will take full ownership of the commercial function across a concurrent programme of international construction projects ranging from £1m to £40m in value. Operating as the sole commercial lead, you will work closely alongside internal Project Managers and manage the performance of major framework consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead cost planning, budgeting, and commercial reporting from early design stage through to final account
* Manage the full procurement and tendering process — from strategy through to contract award
* Administer contracts across multiple international jurisdictions (JCT, NEC, FIDIC, or local equivalents)
* Manage and certify contractor valuations, variations, and final account settlements
* Oversee and hold to account major framework consultants across the programme
* Maintain risk registers and provide clear commercial reporting to senior leadership
The Ideal Candidate
* Demonstrable experience operating in a client-side commercial role within the construction industry
* Minimum 10 years' experience in a commercial management or quantity surveying capacity
* Strong working knowledge of JCT, NEC, or FIDIC contracts
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently across different geographies
* International project experience is essential
* MRICS qualified ; significant relevant experience will be considered
