An opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Gas Service/Breakdown Engineer to join a contractor company, where you will support with the service and maintenance of gas appliances for commercial and domestic properties. You will be required to travel to various locations around the UK and mainly covering the West Midlands area, so it is essential that you have a driving licence.
Job Description for the Commercial Gas Service/Breakdown Engineer:
Attend service calls and reactive breakdowns to fault-find, diagnose, and complete repairs efficiently and cost-effectively Use knowledge and boiler fault-finding expertise to achieve high first-time-fix rates and deliver excellent customer service Complete day-to-day responsive maintenance, servicing and repairs Perform servicing and safety inspections on all heating systems, identifying any work required to maintain system performance and ensure compliance with current gas/oil safety regulations Respond to boiler and system breakdowns, assess faults, and determine the work required Install commercial boilers and associated plant Make informed decisions when repair needs differ from the original job order and notify the relevant person Liaise with management and/or clients to ensure all works are completed to the expected standard Ensure all works and repairs are carried out safely and in accordance with current codes of practice When procuring materials, ensure a best-value and cost-effective approach is followed  Requirements for the Commercial Gas Service/Breakdown Engineer role:
Gas experience within the commercial sector, including analysing, fault finding, service, repair and maintenance on gas/heating installations and appliances Must have qualifications in the following: ACS – CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1, CDGA1, CIGA1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, CORT1, COMCAT Working knowledge of test equipment, including an electrical multimeter Flexible approach: due to the travel aspect, this is a mobile position that will involve travelling to multiple sites across the West Midlands Be part of the emergency call-out team on a rota basis (1 in 6-8 weeks) Ability to work under own initiative as well as within a team Willing to undertake further training/development within the post as required Good communication skills Full UK Driving Licence Basic IT Skills  It is commutable from: Birmingham, Coventry, Kidderminster, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, West Midlands
Hours:  Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Salary:  £50,000 - £55,000 + on-call and overtime payments Benefits:
