Job Description

COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR – Manufacturing SME (sub £25m)

Liverpool area - HYBRID - 1-2 days on site

We’re recruiting a Commercial Director for a long-established, well-invested manufacturing SME which operates in the packaging sector.

Following significant upgrades to equipment and facilities, the organisation now needs a commercially driven leader to reinvigorate the sales function, drive growth, and act as a key partner to the Managing Director.

This is a pivotal senior role with real influence, clear commercial challenge, and the opportunity to shape the future direction of the business.

The Role

Own and deliver the commercial and sales strategy Lead and re-energise an experienced sales team. Drive new business, pricing, margin improvement and customer strategy. Use data, CRM and BI tools to improve forecasting, targeting and reporting. Work closely with Operations and senior leadership to, steer new product development, maximise production capacity and guide investment decisions. Develop and implement a focused marketing strategy to support lead , strengthen market positioning and enhance commercial performance Play a major role at board level, contributing to long-term growth plans.

About You

Senior commercial/sales leadership experience within manufacturing ideally packaging Strong strategic capability with a track record of driving growth. Skilled at modernising processes and developing long-tenured teams. Positive, resilient, commercially astute and confident operating as a No.2 to an MD. Balanced mix of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.
