Commercial Contracts Manager

The Opportunity:
This organisation delivers bespoke engineering solutions across critical sectors including defence, healthcare, and national infrastructure. The successful candidate will drive commercial best practice, supporting both business growth and operational delivery across a diverse project portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
* Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts in line with business objectives
* Lead the full Route to Contract process, from bid support through to contract closeout
* Provide commercial oversight across project delivery, including variations and performance tracking
* Support commercial process development and continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and procurement frameworks
* Act as the primary commercial contact for key stakeholders
* Identify and mitigate commercial, legal, and operational risks
* Manage the full contract lifecycle, including renewals, extensions, and transitions
* Support business development through competitive and compliant proposals
* Deliver reporting to senior leadership on contract performance and risk
* Assist in resolving contractual disputes alongside legal teams
* Maintain strong financial governance to protect margins and profitability
The successful candidate will have:
* Minimum 5+ years’ experience in commercial or contract management
* Proven ability to negotiate and manage high-value, complex contracts
* Experience within engineering, infrastructure, or power sectors
* Strong commercial and financial acumen
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
* Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
* Knowledge of contracting frameworks and procurement regulations is advantageous
